Logo size and stitch count
A left-chest logo on a quarter zip is usually 3 to 4 inches wide and 1.5 to 2.5 inches tall. A simple one-color wordmark at that size runs 2,500 to 4,000 stitches. A filled logo with a shape and text runs 5,000 to 7,000. Fine detail under about 1/16 inch and text under 0.25 inch tall does not sew cleanly, so we simplify or enlarge it on the proof.
Placement on a quarter zip
We center the logo on the left chest about 7 to 8 inches down from the shoulder seam and 3 to 4 inches in from the center, below the zipper tape so the zipper pull never sits on the stitching. On mock necks without a zipper the logo can sit higher. See logo placement on a quarter zip.
Thread and fabric
We sew with Rapos thread on a Happy HCD2-1501 and a YunFu 15-needle, with Maggie magnetic frames that hold thick fleece without hoop burn. Fleece gets a cutaway stabilizer. Performance knits get a lighter backing and a lower-density file so the logo stays flat.
What to send
- Vector art (AI, EPS, PDF, SVG) is best; a 300 dpi PNG works.
- Thread colors as Pantone or a reference image. We match from a 15-needle palette.
- Quantity, style number, color and sizes.
- Any placement preference; otherwise we use the standard.

Questions
Can you embroider more than one thread color?
Yes. Up to 15 colors per design on our machines at no extra charge.
Do I pay digitizing again on a reorder?
No. The $18.99 digitizing fee is one time per design. Reorders use the same file.
Will embroidery show through on a thin performance quarter zip?
The backing shows on the inside of the garment, which is normal. We digitize lighter for thin knits so the outside stays flat.
